One thing that happens as we age is that our skin produces less collagen. Collagen is a protein made up of long peptide chains, which give the skin its firmness and volume. Firming serum contains the three long peptide molecules tripeptide-1, trifluoroacetyl tripeptide-2 and caprooyl tetrapeptide-3, all modern anti-ageing ingredients. Together, the peptides in firming serum condition and protect the skin; they imitate the skin’s natural process for a feeling of firm, elastic skin. Another conditioning ingredient is yeast extract, which also helps to combat the feeling of uneven skin tone.
Moisture, moisture and more moisture
Skin conditioning whey protein helps to increase the skin’s softness and firmness. Moisture retaining glycerine also has the ability to spread and form a moisture-binding barrier on the skin. Sodium hyaluronate also helps here, as this salt of hyaluronic acid is highly moisturizing. Furthermore, lactic acid and lactose helps the skin to retain maximum moisture. Last but not least, the essential amino acid L-arginine and vitamin C contribute their skin conditioning properties.
