Eating grass?

Wheatgrass is the embryonic leaf of wheat that is harvested early. Barley grass is grown from barley seeds, and this too is harvested young and fresh. Both barley grass and wheatgrass are popular ingredients in juices, shots and smoothies. It would be perfectly okay to eat the grass as it is, but most of us prefer not to graze on blades of grass like a horse. So we’ve put it into tablets instead.

What is alfalfa?

You may have seen alfalfa in the form of tasty sprouts in a salad. Alfalfa, also called lucerne, is a leguminous plant with a long tradition. The name alfalfa is Spanish and comes from the Arabic al-fasfasah, which means ‘the best sort of fodder’.
